This is not the sporty MG you were hoping for Storied-but-struggling British automaker MG (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai-based SAIC) is getting back to the basics with a new sports car that embodies the spirit of the delightful T-series and Midget -- cars that endeared the company to enthusiasts worldwide. Just kidding. MG is actually set to release a new crossover/small SUV, according to a report by carnewschina.com. It's based on the SsangYong Korando, though the rear suspension may bear some relation to that of the Volkswagen Tiguan. Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline motor mated to a dual-clutch transmission at launch, a smaller motor is reportedly in the works as well.
